Alexander Costakis, Managing Director Alex joined HSX in January, 2001 and was instrumental in the company's transformation during its acquisition by Cantor Fitzgerald. Alex made the company's entertainment research initiative a reality by advancing the extensive data generating capabilities of HSX. He leads the company's operation and has hands on management experience in advertising, business development and technology. He has provided strategic direction for expanding the company's offerings including development of a white-label virtual market software solution and a patent pending mobile-trading platform. In addition to his experience with virtual markets, Alex has industry experience in entertainment and e-commerce, micro-marketing and software consultative sales. Prior to joining HSX, Alex was with Shopzilla (then Bizrate.com), a leading online marketplace, and for many years prior to that, VNU - a global leader in business and entertainment information services. Representing HSX, Alex has appeared on ABC, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, CNBC, ROB TV (Canada) and other television and radio outlets; and has been featured weekly on Fox Business Network. A native Midwesterner, Alex holds an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and a B.A. in Communication from Pepperdine University. Tzukai Hung, Director of Markets A senior level manager, Tzukai has been with HSX since June, 2000. He has continuously administered the Hollywood Stock Exchange during this time, as well as other large commercial virtual markets. Tzukai has hands on experience designing and building virtual markets as both entertaining online games and predictive tools. He also designs research prediction market propositions and virtual economy solutions to meet specific client research needs. In addition to an analytical background in biotechnology while employed at Chiron Corporation, Tzukai holds a M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Tzukai's interest in pop culture, games, television production and virtual market analytics has made him a valuable client advocate. Afshan Farooqui, Content Writer/Editor Afshan has been a part of the HSX team since August, 2000. As a member of the HSX Content and Markets team, Afshan has worked on a variety of initiatives including the development of event-specific trading sections on the Hollywood Stock Exchange and client websites. Afshan is a savvy researcher who is able to encapsulate and provide thorough information to traders regarding industry related events for ensuring an efficient marketplace. Afshan has researched and covered special projects such as the 2006 World Cup, American Idol, the Grammys and supported HSX television-based prediction market initiatives for Fuse Networks and BET. Afshan is a proficient writer and her works concentrate on world cinema and indie films which have successfully migrated to the mainstream. Afshan augments this skill set by her in-depth understanding of web-editing and through these skills she provides the company's clients reliable and efficient content services. A native Chicagoan, Afshan graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Journalism. Outside of work, Afshan loves to follow the underground dance music scene. Jeff Hartke, Senior Market Analyst Jeff joined HSX in November, 2004 and brings with him six years web and considerable business experience. His combined analytical and web-based technical background makes Jeff a skilled producer of in-depth and actionable analyses using prediction market data. His adaptation of state-of-art research tools sets him apart in effective evaluation of trading behavior and in the development of uncannily accurate predictive outcomes. His experience using traditional analytical methods augmented by a keen understanding of the nuances of virtual stock markets, establishes a foundation for not only market data analysis, but for the development of prediction market design and propositions for effective research results. Prior to joining HSX Jeff worked in numerous entrepreneurial businesses.
